Guardianship

Getting The Best Guardianship For Your Child

Most schools in the UK require overseas children to have a UK guardian. Not only does Connections help place your child in the right school but we also act as guardians for your children during their time in the UK. Connections offers UK guardianship only to those children that we have placed in schools.

For parents who are living overseas, it is important to know that your child is well cared for and at Connections that’s our top priority! The Schools we work with will liaise with Connections in all matters relating to their care:

  • We help with the purchase of uniform and other equipment.
  • We offer to meet every child on their first trip to the UK, at Heathrow or Gatwick and accompany them to schools to help them settle in.
  • We are at the airport when they return home for half-terms and holidays to help with check-ins.
  • We constantly keep in contact with the schools and parents, and we explain to parents anything they do not understand.
  • We liaise with the schools to organize exeat weekends for pupils.

Transfers

Connections organises all transfers and travel arrangements for parents and children during their time in the UK. If parents want, we personally greet pupils at the airport at the beginning of their stay, and take them to their schools, helping them to settle in. We are also at the airport at the end of the term and at half-term, in order to ensure that pupils are greeted by a friendly face and leave safely. The cost will depend on the distance of the school from the airport.

Exeats

At times throughout the year when the school is closed, Connections helps to find your children a “home away from home”. One of us will either accommodate the children ourselves, or arrange suitable host families, which are personally known by one of the Connections team, to accommodate the pupil for all exeat weekends, holidays or any other time when it is necessary for the child to be away from school.
